Software Engineer in Test – London. Java – Linux – Cucumber. Algorithmic trading organisation, part of a wide investment banking group is expanding their engineering team with a need to add to their automation testing team. They seek to hire an experienced Software Engineer in Test with experience of Java, Linux and automation skills to work within a real-time technology driven trading environment. The client is an algorithmic based trading venue that have built high-frequency trading solutions for over ten years and has grown to over 1,000 staff on a global basis. There are several innovation projects taking place during 2024 that the Software Engineer in Test will be part off. Excellent bonus and benefits package is included. 

The Software Engineer in Test will:

• Join a new innovation engineering division setup in 2024
• Work closely with Global Test Manager and regional team of Automation Test Engineers to plan and execute automation testing
• Collaborate with development and production teams
• Design, create and implement automation test scripts
• Conversion of manual test scripting into automation tests scripts
• Continuously improving test automation tools and test strategy
• Become an expert in configuration and maintenance of testing tools and environments
• Merging a clear reporting platform for automated test runs

The Software Engineer in Test will have:

• Extensive experience of test automation, ideally within a BDD environment
• Experience with – Cucumber, Gherkin
• Proficient in Java – experience writing testable code
• Experience working within Linux based environment
• CI – Continuous Integration
• Good understanding of Junit – desirable
• Experience testing algorithmic systems, trading systems – highly beneficial but not essential.
• Understanding of QA practices and tools
• Nice to have experience of Maven, Gradle, Web technology experience – JavaScript/TypeScript
