Linux Systems Engineer – Prop Trading – Market Maker – London – Unix – Linux – Scripting. Miller Maxwell is working with an expanding High Frequency Trading organisation expanding the European operations in London. They are a technically dynamic, highly profitable and renowned for their significant investment in technology. The Linux Systems Engineer will support Front Office Trading, Exchange Connectivity, Low-Latency connectivity and trade monitoring systems used across the business.

The Linux Systems Engineer can expect:

  • Work with a dynamic technology stack including
  • Building and maintaining Linux server environments
  • Support high frequency trading systems
  • Configuration, deployment and upgrade of Linux Server
  • Work directly with High Frequency Traders
  • Be involved in configuration, testing, installation and trade monitor tools
  • Write automation scripts to automate administration tasks

In return the Linux Systems Engineer should have:

  • Excellent Unix – Linux support and engineering experience
  • Experience of Debian, RHEL or Ubuntu
  • Scripting experience with one of the following: Pyton, Shell, Bash or Ruby
  • Containerisation experience – Docker or Kubernetes – beneficial
  • Config management experience – Ansible or Puppet – beneficial
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • A keen interest in financial markets – Electronic Trading
