Senior Java Software Engineer - Market Data - 6 month contract, possibility to extend, inside IR35. Highly successful propriety equities and algorithmic trading brokerage seeks to hire a Senior Java Software Engineer for their expanding team in London. The Senior Software Engineer will work on the client’s core trading engine as part of their core low-latency market data engineering team.

The client has been operating within the equities market for over forty years, they are renowned for technology innovation and investment, their product offering positions their business as one of the key global players within electronic trading.

They are looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer experienced within algorithmic and marker data focused development. The Successful Senior Java Software Engineer will be expected to take ownership of all aspects of market data development across the European region. 

The Senior Software Engineer responsibilities:

• Take ownership of full development life cycle projects - building market data applications - feeds. 
• Work across the full project life cycle.
• Build new components working closely with internal teams.
• Work with FPGA and Java technology teams to improve platforms latency.
• Identify areas for improvement and enhancements.

Required Skill for the Senior Java Software Engineer:

• At least five years commercial Java development experience
• Financial Services environment experience.
• Experience within market data – low-latency or algorithmic based environments - Essential. 
• Knowledge of OneTick, Activ Financial, or KDB, B-Pipe, Elektron, bloomberg OR iress, refinitiv or xignite
• Unix – Linux experience.
• Scripting experience - Python.
